One thing about man has never changed throughout the annals of time. Man has always been interested in trying to make a quick profit. Whether it was through legal or illegal means did not always matter to some; in the end it was all about getting rich quick by finding a buried treasure. In recent years many people have found their buried treasure deep inside the contents of a self storage unit.
People have embraced the self storage industry in recent years as the economy has forced many people to downsize their living arrangements and place some of their belongings in a self storage unit. Sadly, that does not always mean that they will be able to pay their self storage unit. As a result, that unit and all its contents can be put up for auction by the facility manager/owner.
With some of the finds that people have had just in the last year it is understandable that more and more people are getting an interest in self storage auctions. A couple in San Jose purchased a unit for $1100. When they began delving into the unit they discovered a chest full of gold and silver coins and bars (estimated worth approximately $500,000).
Thanks to reality shows like Storage Wars and Auction Hunters, auctions at self storage facilities have become quite popular. Interest in them has grown to a point where websites have been created with the primary purpose of helping people locate self storage auctions in their area.
One such site is called StorageUnitAuctionList.com. It started up not too long ago in 2011, but has already become an injury leader in regards to information about self storage auctions.
“The one thing everyone has to keep in mind when thinking about storage auctions is that they exist for a reason,” said Maddison Lake, President and Founder of storageunitauctionlist.com. “…We’ve done our best to make it easier for self storage operators to quickly and conveniently list their auctions on our website, to reach a more serious, motivated and driven force of auction hunters in their local areas.”
In order to remain in the forefront of this emerging business, StorageUnit AuctionList.com has created over 43,000 pages dedicated to the many facilities that the site draws information from. The idea behind this is to make the site a comprehensive storing house of information that could be beneficial to storage auction hunters everywhere.
The new additions to the site were launched back in early April 2012.
