Holidays are great for many things. They often give us a chance to spend time with family and let loved ones know how we feel about them. Depending on the holiday they are also a great for stocking up on chocolate. A pair of self storage facilities in the UK want to make sure that the local kids don’t have to go without for the next big candy holiday—Easter.
Self storage facilities around the world are known for getting involved in a variety of charitable endeavors; especially the kind that benefit kids. It’s not uncommon to see facilities collecting toys around the holiday season as well as clothes and food. Typically they are not too picky about what people donate (as long as the donations are in proper condition of course).
There are a couple facilities in the UK that currently engaged in some collection efforts for kids, but they are being somewhat particular about what they are willing to accept—Easter eggs. With the Easter holiday fast approaching, they want to make sure that the baskets of kids that are less fortunate are not left empty.
Access Self Storage in Manchester has called upon the community to help them collect Easter eggs for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
Lee Porteus, store manager at Access Self Storage Manchester, said: “We wanted to do something for CAFT and help those that it works with. By donating an Easter egg we will all be helping someone enjoy Easter a little more this year.”
Not to be out done, the management team at another Access facility has asked its community to help them collect as many chocolate eggs as it can.
Store manager, Joanne Tyler said: “We wanted to do something for The Children’s Society and help those that it works with. By donating an Easter egg we will all be helping someone enjoy Easter a little more this year”.
Both places will be collecting chocolate treats up till April 17.
This is not the only charitable endeavor that Access Self Storage facilities get involved in. They are also heavily involved in a Christmas Toy Appeal gathering toys from people for the Children’s Society.
“Christmas is a time of year to enjoy and we hope to put a smile on the faces of local children who are not as fortunate as others,” Kevin Pratt of Access Self Storage said during last year’s drive.
