There’s a Market for Marketing in the Self Storage Industry

Opening a business—self storage and otherwise–of any kind is a big step in life; one that can come crashing down real hard if you fail to do one real important thing. You have to market your business. The only problem with that is with the wide variety of options available to businesses now the whole concept can be overwhelming.

For larger self storage companies marketing is not as much of an issue. They want to maximize their marketing dollars just like anyone, but since they are larger they likely have the means to t do more extensive work than say a solitary self storage facility.

Take the recent promotion by Door to Door Storage, a company with a presence in 54 markets and 36 states, as an example:

“At Door to Door Storage, we pride ourselves in providing the most secure, convenient and affordable moving and storage services in the industry,” said Tracey Kelly, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Door to Door Storage.” We are so confident that you will find our service superior that we are willing to guarantee that by matching any major national competitor’s price, if you happen to find a lower one.”

You may find smaller companies offering something similar, but with limited marketing dollars it is not as likely. Instead they will look to figure out to maximize the dollars they do have to spend and get the most out of them.

USstoragesearch.com wants to help and has come up with a collection of new marketing programs online that self storage owners and operators to take advantage of.

“Each membership is designed to help storage operators bring in new tenants in a way that’s beneficial for their business and their market. Our goal for USstoragesearch.com has always been to provide a great return on investment and help storage operators bring in new tenants,” said Nick Bilava, director of sales and marketing with B² Interactive, the firm that oversees operations of USstoragesearch.com.

The new programs are divided in to three categories: Basic, Network, and Network Plus. With each self storage facilities can reason different levels of exposure from being included on the main site’s search directory (basic) to being on it and affiliated and partner sites (network), and  their most expensive coverage that includes premium listing on all sites (network plus).

“As the storage industry, technology, and Internet change, we will change with it to provide our customers with the most profitable marketing solution. The new product line makes USstoragesearch.com an even stronger marketing option and will benefit members greatly, especially the independent operators who operate 1-5 facilities,” said Bill Hipsher, one of the co-founders of B² Interactive and developer of USstoragesearch.com’s concept.
