Almost every week, there are mergers and acquisitions around the nation in the self storage industry. Other industries related to self storage also go through these activities, too. Last month, Storage.com entered into a licensing, marketing, and development agreement with B2 Interactive in Omaha, Nebraska. Storage.com is now in the process of moving it’s operations to Omaha.
Incorporating Storage.com into B2 Interactive has more than doubled the size of the personnel and office space in the office in Omaha. This merger brought new jobs to the area. There will be over 12 new technology positions in addition to 20 call center positions. The addition of having a call center will allow potential customers to get real-time answers to their questions and to get help with finding and renting a storage unit.
In addition to relocating employees, Storage.com has moved its website, database, and systems to the B2 Interactive servers. B2 Interactive has now assumed all of the day-to-day operational activities of the website.
Brandon Taylor co-founded B2 Interactive. He has over 15 years experience designing and developing hundreds of websites. He has worked on everything from small projects for local businesses to national projects with large companies. His company provides Internet marketing, SEO, and website development. Taylor will oversee the website development, software development, and creative teams working on Storage.com
Bill Hipsher, founder of Storage.com, will continue to oversee the operations of Storage.com. He will also be over the business development and Internet marketing departments of B2 Interactive. Mr. Hipsher is credited with developing one of the first online self-storage online marketplaces in the industry.
Founded in 2010, Storage.com is a network partner with USStoragesearch.com. This partnership provides vast information about available storage space at self storage facilities across the United States. Reservations can be made online.
Storage.com integrates with major property management systems and provides easy-to-use online inventory management tools even for facilities not using property management systems.
Nick Bilava will direct the sales and marketing activities for Storage.com. For the last 7 years he has helped increase the number of storage facilities listed with Storage.com. He will work with Weston Cooper, whose main responsibilities with Storage.com have been with the sales department.
Storage.com and B2 Interactive are two strong companies. It will be interesting to see what things come from this merger.
