Stor-All announced that they have hired Janet Howard as their new area coach in south Florida. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the self storage industry. She manages 18 facilities and oversees the daily operations of nine self storage properties.
You might wonder what an ‘area coach’ does. The job varies depending on the company and on the area that the coach is responsible for. But generally, there are several things that coaches do. Some responsibilities include training of personnel, coaching and supporting managers, helping employees to set goals, identifying ways to improve processes, and assisting in improving day-to-day operations. They also champion the company’s culture and high standards.
Janet has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University. She has worked in retail management where she managed several stores in all of the major Dade and Broward County malls. She worked as a Territory Operations Manager for a major fast food chain as a liaison between the corporate and the various franchises. She also trained the management staff and assisted in opening new restaurants.
More recently, Howard worked ten years for Stor-All as a district manager. In that position, she ranked in the top 20 percent of the company’s 212 district managers.
Since starting her career at Stor-All, Janet notes, “My experience with Stor-All since I have joined the family has been fantastic. I thank God everyday when I get up in the morning that I have joined such a successful family-oriented company that really cares about their people. To sum up in a few words what I have experienced since joining Stor-All is that I have had the friendliest welcome by everyone and have seen the cleanest properties I have had the pleasure to visit in my career. Thanks for allowing me to join this great organization!”
Back in the 60s, two brothers, Robert and Norman Anderson, owned a construction company that built homes and commercial buildings. They were among the first in their area to construct self storage facilities. They started Stor-All to manage the self storage facilities that their company built.
In the mid-1970s Stor-All was a founding member of the Self Storage Association where they work on increasing professionalism in the industry and growth and awareness of the self storage business.
In 1986, they merged the two companies under the Stor-All name and now the founder’s sons, Larry and Jeff, have assumed leadership for the company.
Stor-All has 44 facilities in Florida, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. Their headquarters is in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
