Stop and Store has announced the opening of an innovative, automated self storage facility in Kelowna, British Columbia. The company’s decision to expand was driven by the current development explosion in both the commercial and housing sector of Kelowna, according to a press release.
In 2016 alone Kelowna saw 2,196 housing project starts. The Global News reports this as being a 72-percent increase over 2015.
Stop and Store, which operates nine self storage locations across BC and the United States, prides itself on speedy and convenient service. It provides automated, competitively priced storage for both residential and business needs.
“A person can rent a self storage unit within 5 minutes,” said Stop and Store co-owner Jon Wyles. “This level of operational efficiency enables Stop and Store to offer the extremely competitive pricing over more traditional players in the market.”
The addition of a new facility was based on what owners view as an ideal environment: namely, the influx of people moving to Kelowna from the lower mainland and the extremely low self storage vacancy rate in the area.
“Prospective residents of Kelowna often move to the city with more belongings than their new home or rental can fit,” states the source. “Self storage is the perfect solution to this ever-growing problem of space.”
For Stop and Store, the speed in which storage units can be rented is defining. Attracting customers looking to rent online or using smartphones has been an essential factor in its business.
“No need to visit the storage facility and sign papers when it can all be done on your computer or smartphone,” states the release. “Customers love the fact they can take a virtual tour online to see the facility and see an example of the space they are renting.”
Stop and Store isn’t, however, completely ruling out the traditional approach. If a customer prefers viewing the facility before renting, an appointment can be arranged with the company’s site manager.
