South African Self Storage Company Supports What the Community Loves

Self storage companies are known for doing a lot more than just storing people’s belongings. Along with giving tenants a little sanity now that their homes/offices are cleaner and more organized many of them go to great lengths to do what they can in the community.

From donating space for charity drives, holding yard sales, and much, much more there is almost no end to the ways that some self storage facilities try to benefit their communities. That goes just as much for facilities overseas as in the United States.

Take Stor-age, the leading provider of self storage in South Africa, for example.  Recently the Somerset West facility helped out the Mdzananda Animal Clinic by donating some space to them in order to help them with a book drive.

The clinic is the only one of its kind in its area treating upwards of 1000 animals a month. To be able to do the work that it does it counts on fundraising. Their two book sales are the most successful ones and they count on being able to keep the books donated in good condition so they can sell them. The containers they have are not the best so when Stor-age stepped up to help the aid could not have come at a better time.

For the people at the clinic it is not all about helping the animals. They want to help make a change in the community as well—something they can continue to do with Stor-age’s help.

While helping keep pets healthy can benefit the community on an individual basis Stor-age has found another way to benefit the community as a whole by supporting the country’s favorite pastime—rugby.

The company had people out at the Nelson Madela Bay Stadium recently for the Springboks (South African national team) game against the Scottish (which South Africa won easily 55-6) handing out snacks to fans in attendance.

That is not the first time they done that at a game, but the company is actually involved in more direct ways with the sport than feeding the fans. It directly sponsors five teams (the Khosa Rugby Club, Pirates Rugby Club, Hamiltons Rugby Club, Kraaifontein Rugby Club, and Stor-Age False Rugby Club).

The company has also provided 500 parking spaces for fans attending games at the Newlands Rugby Stadium, and sponsors a contest at the Cape Town Tens where they gave away a new VW Golf GTI.

What better way to endure a company to the community than to help keep their pets happy and support their favorite sport?
