Self Storage Industry Already Getting in the Holiday Spirit

The fall is a beautiful time of year. The leaves are turning, the temperatures cool off, there is a sporting event almost always on; some would say it doesn’t get any better than this. Then you add in the holidays where candy is everywhere (Halloween), you are expected to eat like a pig (Thanksgiving), and presents (Christmas)—seems like you’d want to take it slow and savor every moment, right?

So then how come more and more people are trying to skip over Halloween and Thanksgiving for Christmas?

Some stores already have Christmas decorations out even though Halloween is still a couple days away. Some members of the self storage industry are already getting in the holiday spirit, but it is not because they are overlooking Halloween and/or Thanksgiving. They just want to get their donation drives started sooner rather than later.

With the number of places that Access Self Storage—a self storage company in the UK—help each year it is no wonder that they are already getting their annual Christmas Charity Appeal going.

“This year we are supporting 21 different charities, Action for Children, Save the Children, Kingston Foodbank, Acton Homeless Concern, When you wish upon a Star, Rainbows and many more. We have created special drop-off points in all our stores, where donations will be collected, sorted and delivered to the charities…” said Access Self Storage Marketing Manager Kevin Pratt .

With more than 50 self storage facilities taking donations the company is hopeful that it will once again get a strog response so that they will be able to put a smile on the face of as many children as possible.

“…Last year the public support for our campaign was incredible and we are really hoping that we will be able to top it again!!” said Pratt.

They are not the only ones that have already gotten started with their donation drives. San Diego Self Storage has begun collecting toys as part of the Toys for Tots drive.

According to SDSS Managing Partner, J. Terry Aston, “This year marks the 15th consecutive year that SDSS is participating in the Toys for Tots collection drive and with 18 facilities throughout San Diego County, it’s convenient for families to drop off toys…

Many more are likely to follow suit and began collecting coats, clothes, food, and toys for the less fortunate. Like Access Self Storage and San Diego Self Storage they will mean no disrespect to the holidays that come prior to Christmas. They just want to be able to put a smile on as many faces as possible this holiday season.
