Self Storage Company Wants to Help Alleviate Some Aches and Pains

When it comes time to down size your living arrangements or move the self storage industry can be of great assistance in relieving a lot of the stress and pain that comes with having to do so by giving you access to some much needed space. While all self storage facilities can take care of the metaphorical pain of moving there are some that try to help with physical pain as well.

A-1 Self Storage, a self storage provider in California, has made it a company practice to give back to the community and try to help people. The company makes a number of contributions to charities all over the state as well as some nationwide and global ones. Recently it made a donation to the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation to help it fulfill its mission of improving the lives of people with arthritis.

“We are proud to support the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation” said Brian Caster, President and CEO of A-1 Self Storage. “Over 50 million American adults have been diagnosed with arthritis and 300,000 children under the age of 18 are also affected by this disease. These statistics are alarming! We are pleased to provide some monetary support to help enable the Arthritis Foundation to continue their invaluable efforts in assisting patients suffering with arthritis.”

Arthritis is something that many people are afflicted with during their lives. More than 20 million people have severe limitations caused by the joint disorder. Some estimates claim that arthritis cases cost upwards of $100 billion a year with close to half of that coming from lost wages. Hospitals see around a million patients a year due to arthritis problems and another 45 million on an out-patient basis.

A-1 Self Storage is not the only company trying to help battle a disease. Earlier this year StorageMart held the “Pin for a Cure” contest where they challenged people on social media to pin their special “Pin for a Cure” pin on Pinterest.  For each time it was they pledged to donate a dollar to the  Muscular Dystrophy Association up to $5000 (which they did end up donating).

“We are so very fortunate to have the support of StorageMart. They are true friends of our community and the families served by the MDA,” stated Patti Butera, Area Director, MDA.
