Self Storage Company Continues to Put its Money Where its Mouth Is

We’ve all heard it before from either a loved one, friend, teammate, or superior at work. They say they are going to do something, but then when it comes time to follow through they are full of excuses on why they can’t do whatever they promised to do. Business have been known to do the same, but there is one self storage company that certainly does not.

A-1 Self Storage in California has made charitable contributions a regular part of doing business for years. Throughout the year the company can be found making donations to non-for-profits on a local, state, national, and sometimes international level.

For example, the company recently announced that it is going to be supporting the American Diabetes Association once again this year by pledging to match up to $10,000 in donations

“We are proud to once again support the American Diabetes Association’s Camp Wana Kura. The American Diabetes Association does an excellent job at Camp Wana Kura. The camp serves local children with type 1 diabetes and their families. The camp is incredible and so much fun for the children. We are fortunate to be able to give back to our community by supporting the ADA,” said Brian Caster, President and CEO of A-1 Self Storage.

Camp Wana Kura is a day camp for children ages 5-12 to come and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including swimming, water games, sing songs, and so much more. It also gives kids a chance to meet others with type 1 diabetes like them.

The promise to aid Camp Wana Kura is just one of the many contributions the company has made recently. A-1 Self Storage recently helped the Salvation Army raise close to $110,000 in six weeks for the Joan Kroc Corps Community Center’s HEROES Program & Scholarship Campaign. The goal had been top raise $90,000.

Thanks to the money raised more than a couple thousand people will be able to enjoy the Center’s programs geared towards nurturing creativity, discovering their talents, and promoting community involvement.

“Thanks to the HEROES Campaign, many families in the San Diego area will be awarded scholarships enabling them to experience the wonderful programs like swim lessons, karate lessons, summer and winter camps. We are excited to be a part of the campaign and look forward to hearing of its success,” Caster said.
