Self Storage Companies Support Children’s Hospitals

Self storage facilities are often active in charities on a local, national, and even international level. Choosing one has to be hard for a company to do. What kind of reach do they want? Who do they want to help? Do they want to be a primary donor or are they okay with being one of many?

As hard as choosing must be there is always one thing that people can typically agree on wanting to help—kids. From school projects to food banks and toy drives during the holidays you can’t go wrong when it comes to helping kids regardless of the scale.

For example, take a children’s hospital. They are large and require millions in aid in order to provide the services and do the research that they do so whether a donation is small or large it all comes in handy, and there is never enough.

That is likely why some self storage facilities have made a habit out of donating to local children’s hospitals.

A-1 Self Storage in San Diego, California, has recently made a donation to the Rady Children’s Hospital. Their donation will go to cover a number of expenses chief among them a n instrument called a Glidesope (assists with difficult airways).

I’m excited such specific needs were met with our gift.” said Brian Caster, President and CEO of A-1 Self Storage. “We at A-1 Self Storage proudly support Rady Children’s and are pleased our support can make a positive and tangible difference in patient care and the nurses’ work environment.”

Money was also earmarked to buy comfortable chairs for the nursing staff along with support for the pastoral and orthopedic departments.

A-1 Self Storage is not the only facility that likes to support children’s hospitals. In Texas, Amazing Spaces has made the Shriners Hospital for Children in Houston the beneficiary of fund raising efforts. On May 16 Amazing Spaces will be celebrating 15 years in the business. As part of the celebration they will hold a fundraiser.

“We were truly amazed at the innovative work the hospital does and by the level of care that the hospital gives so that child is surrounded by compassion and put at ease,” says Kathy Tautenhahn, Vice President of Amazing Spaces. “The building itself was kid-friendly and cheery…Seeing that atmosphere of compassion and care gives us the resolve to incorporate fundraising into our celebratory anniversary event on May 16th.”
