Extra Space Storage of South Brunswick, New Jersey, announced that several members of the New York Jets Flight Crew (the cheerleading squad for the New York Jets) will be in attendance at its grand opening celebration. The grand opening will be held at the new South Brunswick Extra Space location, 3780 Route 1, Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27.

Festivities on the 27th will begin with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Monmouth Junction mayor Frank Gambatese. After that, three members of the New York Jets Flight Crew will be available to sign autographs and have their photos taken with Extra Space guests for the next two hours. The event will also include refreshments, games and prizes, tours of the new storage facility, and special promotions for everyone in attendance. Anyone who would like to come is invited.

“Everyone is welcome to attend, and we extend our invitation especially to area residents,” said Jacob Burkhart, an Extra Space Divisional Marketing Manager, in a statement released today. “We have a great day planned and look forward to celebrating with our new neighbors. We are excited for the chance to be a part of the community.”

The new South Brunswick Extra Space facility will be the first Extra Space facility in Monmouth Junction. To celebrate its opening, the new facility is offering tenants their first two months of rent free.

The New York Jets Flight Crew is a cheerleading squad supporting the New York Jets, a National Football League team. The Flight Crew was formed in 2007 and is directed by former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Denise Garvey. In order to become a Flight Crew member, prospective cheerleaders must fill out an application, attend six prep classes, and go through several days of tryouts, including preliminary tryouts, semifinals, interviews, and finally the final tryouts. The Jets are expanding the Flight Crew from 30 to 40 cheerleaders this year, as well as expanding their presence at games. The Flight Crew will be on the sidelines at football games, will perform before games and at halftime, and will be featured on Jets’ video boards during games. While performances at games are a big part of a Flight Crew members’ job responsibilities, appearances at community events, such as the Extra Space facility opening in New Brunswick, are a big part of the job as well. Flight Crew members have also made appearances on CBS, ESPN, TLC, WPIX, and the Dr. Oz show, and are featured in a swimsuit calendar every year.
