New Storage Facilities Opening Around the Country

The economy is slowly picking up around the United States. More and more new self storage facilities are opening up and expanding their business.

Earlier this month, Dad’s Self Storage, located in Arkansas City, Kansas, opened its doors to business. It has four buildings with 97 units of various sizes. Owner Larry Creel partnered with other family members to start the storage facility business. He had recently retired from working for AT&T for over thirty years. He wanted a retirement project so he decided to go into the self storage business.

Today, Case Lawrence opened his third OfficeBay business in Fresno, California. He opened his first facility in March 2011 and his facility filled up so quickly that he decided to expand. OfficeBay is a unique business solution for entrepreneurs. It supports mobile entrepreneurs and telecommuters by providing office space, hot desking (temporary use of a work station), conference rooms, and premium storage all in one location.

OfficeBay services small businesses, start-ups and telecommuters by helping them reduce their costs of long-term office space leases. They also provide document storage for businesses and have a specialized software program that keeps track of the business’ inventory, location of items, and who the last person was that accessed the storage unit. OfficeBay also announced that it will open two more facilities in Fresno in the near future.

In Houston, Texas, Cool Box Portable Storage opened its 12th portable storage facility. “After experiencing tremendous growth in the moving and storage industry in the Texas area; we are excited to meet that demand by opening our third such facility in Houston” stated Monica Lovato, Director of Operations for Cool Box Portable Storage in a recent conversation with other area moving and storage providers.

Cool Box Portable Storage is a family owned business that is based in Tucson, Arizona. It is the largest privately owned and operated portable storage company on the West Coast. In addition to their 12 secure storage facilities, they have 5,000 portable storage containers for lease. They have manufacturing plants throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
