The National Portable Storage Association (NPSA) has announced that it will be holding two conventions in 2010. The conventions are open both to NPSA members and nonmembers. Nonmembers who are interested in portable self storage are particularly encouraged to attend in order to learn more about the portable storage industry. The NPSA is a national trade association focusing on businesses that offer various kinds of portable self-storage, including secure portable containers, trailers, mobile offices, and mobile storage units.

The first convention, the Spring Seminar, will take place from April 26-27, 2010, at the Hilton Hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At the Spring Seminar, members traditionally focus on education, networking, and any special issues, opportunities or challenges that are facing the industry. Remembering the 2009 Spring Seminar, NPSA Executive Director John Finnessy commented, “Last year in Santa Barbara, we focused on what happened in the second hand market for shipping containers in key industries….In 2010, we’ll continue our tradition of addressing the challenges our industry faces, as well as hosting a venue for strategic networking.”

NPSA’s second convention of the year will be its signature event, the 8th Annual Conference and Trade Show. This year the show will be held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. More than 650 people attended last year’s trade show, which had 50 exhibitors and was held in October at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The 2009 event was co-sponsored by the Mobile Self-Storage Association.

“The dust just settled on our 2009 event, but it’s not too early to begin planning for 2010,” remarked NPSA’s Operations Manager, Joel Rathbone. “There are plenty of sponsorship opportunities for our 2010 events that can help you raise the visibility of your brand within the portable storage industry.” Plans for this year’s event include an early bird reception meant to provide a networking opportunity for early registrants, and a golf outing that will take place before the trade show begins. Several other outings will also be planned to occur throughout the weekend.

Both the Spring Seminar and the 8th Annual Conference and Trade Show are family-friendly events. Virginia Beach, in addition to its beach and parks, also has a rock climbing gym, an aquarium and marine science center, and an art museum. The 8th Annual Conference and Trade Show will be held in Orlando, Florida, where Walt Disney World, Epcot Center, Seaworld, and Discovery Cove are located.

Members and non-members who wish to register for either event can find more information at NPSA’s website,
