LifeStorage announced the opening of its newest facility in Barrington, Illinois. This brings the number of facilities in Illinois up to 28. It is located at 1455 South Barrington Road.

This new facility is similar to the others in the LifeStorage portfolio. It will offer a variety of climate-controlled units, on-site management, digital surveillance, and computer controlled entry. It also has fully furnished office suites for small-business owners and entrepreneurs to rent. Those offices have high-speed Internet access and customers have access to copy and faxing machines and conference rooms.

Barrington is among the most affluent areas in the United States. It is 32 miles from Chicago yet is considered part of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Barrington consists of six independent villages: Tower Lakes, Lake Barrington, Port Barrington, Barrington Hills, North Barrington, and South Barrington. It is the place of the infamous gunfight between the FBI and Public Enemy #1 Baby Face Nelson.

It has seven separate banks and some banks have several branches! It has over a half-dozen car dealerships and auto sales, gas sales tax, and state-taxable auto repairs bring in $2.1 million in sales tax for the city. (That is over half of the tax base for the city.)

The Gatorade Sports Science Institute, GE Heathcare IT headquarters, ISR Systems (a defense contractor), and real estate developer GK Development are also located in Barrington.  This is impressive considering it has a population of just over 10,000 people.

“Barrington has a long history of being a growing community that appreciates quality,” said Shalonda Siler, District Manager for LifeStorage. “LifeStorage’s mission is to continually exhibit quality, professionalism and outstanding customer service. We are proud to be a part of a community that’s so rich in both innovation and tradition.”

LifeStorage offers their customers drive-in loading bays so that they are not in the rain and the snow while loading and unloading. Many of their facilities have vehicle, RV, and boat storage. They accept Fedex and UPS package deliveries for customers who rent a mailbox. They have fully furnished office suites at selected locations and high-speed WI-FI Internet Access

Founded in 2002, LifeStorage started out with a single storage facility. They now have 52 facilities in eight states: California, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. LifeStorage provides individuals, businesses and government agencies with short-term and long-term storage opportunities.
