Yesterday, Houston-based Proguard Self Storage announced the winner of their Facebook giveaway that they dubbed “Celebrate Houston.” Winner of the giveaway received a pair of Mezzanine tickets to a Houston Astros game at the Minute Maid Park. An all-you-can-eat pass to the Park’s snack items of peanuts, popcorn, nachos, hotdogs, and soda pop was also included.
Proguard had recently created a company Facebook page. The giveaway was an effort to promote their page in addition to honoring Houston and attracting clients. People who were their Facebook fans and who joined Proguard’s mailing list were eligible for the giveaway. (People who signed up for the mailing list receive current information about seasonal discounts and storage tips and ideas.)
Justin Higgs was announced as the winner of the giveaway. Higgs is a longtime Astro fan and goes to almost all of the Astro games. He said, “It’s awesome to get a pair of tickets for free! It’s a really cool giveaway – I hope they do it again.”
Blenda Stapleton, one of Proguard’s managers, indicated that Proguard is willing to hold more giveaways. The company is open to ways to celebrate Houston and show off what a great city Houston is. Stapleton said, “We’d love to do something like this again, and we’re always open to suggestions from our fans – we certainly don’t know everything there is to know about this town.”
Proguard Storage has used other innovations besides Facebook in an effort to provide service to their customers. Because they understand how difficult it is to predict the amount of space required for storage, they have developed a free online space calculator. Customers can enter in the number and the type of their belongings and the space calculator will determine a guide to the amount of space needed and will recommend a suitable storage unit size.
Earlier this summer, the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation selected Proguard Self Storage as a Winner of Distinction in their 2011 Better Business Bureau Awards for Excellence. Proguard was chosen for their quality in the workplace, their “superior commitment to ethics,” and overall excellence.
