Because of its powdery and fluffy snow, Utah claims to have the greatest snow on earth. Park City is a mecca that draws skiers from around the world. Park City is also a great place to hold conferences and that is where Extra Space Storage recently held its annual Partner Conference.

Company executives along with over 100 self storage owners for whom Extra Space Storage manages gathered to discuss strategies and goals for the upcoming year. The theme of the conference was “The Best at Getting Better” provided a platform to strengthen relationships, have open discussions, and demonstrate Extra Space’s commitment to its partners and their growth.

Recently recognized by the Washington Post as the “nation’s most popular governor,’ Governor Gary Herbert welcomed conference attendees and gave the opening keynote address. (As an interesting side note, Herbert has a popularity rating of 73 percent and beat out governors Mike Beebe and Chris Christie.)

New York Times columnist, Carl Richards, gave an educational and entertaining presentation using his trademark sketches to cut through the complexities of finance. Richards is a dynamic international speaker and author. He has a talent for simplifying the most complex money ideas. He has become a popular presenter because he connects with the audience through his high energy presentations and his simple to understand sketches of complex financial concepts.

“Extra Space Storage was founded on the principle of building and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships.  This conference was one way that we show our partners that we value them and their feedback.  It also allows our partners to see that together we have a very bright future,” said Spencer Kirk, Chief Executive Officer at Extra Space Storage. “With over 40 million square feet of storage under management it is imperative for Extra Space to maintain an open and healthy dialogue with its partners.”
