Today, Door to Door Storage, Inc., announced they have formed a partnership with FreightCenter. FreightCenter assists businesses and individuals with their freight shipping needs. This partnership will enable Door to Door to offer a new type of service for its customers.

“The strategic partnership between Door to Door and FreightCenter provides our companies with additional options to help ensure customers receive the best experience possible when they need to transport items—which is a top priority for us both,” said Tracey Kelly, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Door to Door.

This partnership will also allow FreightCenter customers to ship more – and larger – items in one container at a competitive price. (Door to Door contains hold up to 2,000 pounds, which is the equivalent of 40 to 50 medium-sized boxes.)

“We are extremely pleased to partner with FreightCenter,” said Ted Cummings, Vice President Channel Development for Door to Door. “With its innovative online approach to match customers with the service they need, FreightCenter complements our efforts and we look forward to helping them expand their service offering.”

In 1996, Door to Door introduced the concept of portable container storage in Seattle, Washington. Up until that time, the self storage industry in that area just had facilities with units to rent.

The public embraced the idea of portable storage containers and it quickly spread up and down the West Coast. Door to Door then branched out to cities in other areas and now have facilities in metropolitan areas across the United States. Its headquarters are in Kent, Washington.

In 1999, Door to Door added self-service moving options to their customers. With the motto “We handle people’s belongings with care because we care about the people they belong to” Door to Door is committed to delivering quality storage and moving solutions to their customers. And today, the company has added the option of shipping services for its customers.

In 1998, James Brosious co-founded American Freight Companies, which is the parent company of FreightCenter. The purpose of the company is to fill one-time freight shipping needs that small businesses have.

Having an online presence has enabled FreightCenter to become one of the largest Internet-based freight logistics companies in the United States. Their primary focus is using web-based tools to help people with their shipping needs. They are based in Tampa Bay, Florida.
