The Mini Storage Messenger Magazine announced that College Point Storage Self Storage in Lacey, Washington, as the best New Storage facility in 2013. The design, functionality, esthetically appealing structure, and attractive landscaping were factors that were considered for this award. The facility also received high praise from city officials and the director of the city’s building department for its beautiful design.
In addition to being a great self storage facility, College Point Self Storage is also very community minded. They like to give back to their community and help in any way that they can. They offer space for volunteer and civic organizations. For example, the local Boys and Girls club used the glass tower on the Fourth of July. From their cozy spot, they watched the town’s fireworks.
Other groups have used College Point for bar-b-que fundraisers and group garage sales. Even the local law enforcement agency has conducted training sessions at the College Point facility. And, the facility has become an important landmark in the community.
When the Prime Development group LLC was in the planning stages before building the facility, they didn’t want it to look like a typical storage place. They wanted the building to look more like a research and development facility. They were successful in the implementation of their idea.
The 100,00 square-foot facility has a set of single-level units that create a perimeter. Then, they have sections that are three-stories. The facility has lots of windows, which adds to the visual appeal of the building.
The facility has two freight elevators, and a covered loading and unloading dock. Renters are especially grateful for the covered docks that keep them out of the stormy Pacific Northwest weather. The loading area is enclosed on three sides. There is enough room for 4 large trucks to be in there simultaneously. During the nighttime, the loading dock is brightly lit which adds security to the area. (The facility also has 16 security cameras throughout the facility.)
College Point Self Storage has 374 storage units in over 82,000 rentable square feet. The units are climate controlled in the three-story section. Because of its height, the facility can easily bee seen from the nearby freeway that was recently renovated. The freeway is exceptionally busy because of its location, which means that a lot of people drive by the facility every day.
