“Clear that Clutter” Sweepstake Sponsored by SpareFoot

Years ago, my aunt read a book called Clutter’s Last Stand by Don Aslett. She loved that book because it helped her figure out ways to de-junk and de-clutter her home. SpareFoot in Austin, Texas, is providing impetus (like the book did for my aunt) to help people ‘clear that clutter’ from their home.

SpareFoot is sponsoring a ‘Clear that Clutter’ sweepstakes to help consumers win the war against their stuff that is stuffed all over their home and garage. People can enter the sweepstakes from now until December 15. The winner of the sweepstakes will get up to six months’ worth of storage from SpareFoot in the form of a $500 Visa gift card.

Aslett’s book helps people identify junk – items like empty, plastic butter or Cool Whip containers, magazines that are 3 years old, half-used bottles of nail polish that is never used any more, multiples of tools (like hammers, pliers, screwdrivers), old lamps without shades, and old ice skates that no longer fit. Things like that can be tossed or given to Goodwill or charity.

Other possessions might clutter a home but are still valuable – sports equipment that need to be stored because it is currently out of season, a dining table to be given to a daughter when she gets married, bicycles, and your college-aged son’s collection of baseball cards. Those kinds of things.

SpareFoot can’t help you with the junk but they certainly can with the clutter. And where their sweepstakes comes in. It is meant to help you deal with those extra possessions taking up space that you really don’t need to have in your home at the moment.

To enter SpareFoot’s sweepstakes, people need to visit SpareFoot’s Facebook page. Then, they can start earning points. The more points collected, the more sweepstakes entries a person can get. The more entries a person gets, the greater the chance of winning the sweepstakes.

People earn points by:

  • Liking SpareFoot on Facebook
  • Following them on Twitter
  • Showing SpareFoot some Google+ ‘love’ (visiting their Google+ page)
  • Tweeting about the sweepstakes up to once a day (which will increase the odds of winning)

SpareFoot is using Rafflecopter on their Facebook page to keep track of the entrants and the points that they earn.

So, what are you waiting for? Hurry to SpareFoot’s Facebook page and enter their sweepstakes. And, start planning of what you will put in your self storage unit when you win!
