The Lock Up, a nationwide self storage company based in Chicago, announced Sunday that it will offer its new and existing tenants the chance to win up to $1000 in free rent for a self storage unit. The raffle is a new marketing technique that The Lock Up hopes will draw in more tenants and show appreciation to tenants who currently rent units from the business.
“We take a lot of pride in providing our valued customers with the most state of the art storage units available,” commented The Lock Up’s vice president of operations, Andrea Carnes in a statement released Sunday. She was referring to the facility’s climate-controlled units, carpeted hallways, wine storage facilities, and indoor loading bays (which provide an additional measure of comfort to tenants who are loading or unloading units in the middle of a Chicago winter). “The opportunity to reward them with free rent is one way of showing our sincere appreciation for their business,” she continued. Carnes also took the opportunity to point out to the press the upscale facade of the buildings used by The Lock Up, which tend to blend in well with their surrounding urban neighborhoods. “We consider ourselves to be the Nordstrom of our industry,” Carnes said.
The Lock Up’s raffle will include several drawings. The Grand Prize will be $1,000 in free rent at any The Lock Up location. Second prize is three months rent, up to a maximum of $500, and third prize is two months rent, up to a maximum of $250. The drawing will be held through May 31, 2010.
