Recently, the Cardinale Moving & Storage in Castroville, California, was honored with winning the Business of the Year award at the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce awards dinner on Saturday, March 24, 2012. They are well deserving of this award.
The Cardinale family members are long-time residents on the Monterey peninsula. They have lived there for over 70 years. In the beginning, Sal and Angie Cardinale managed the company for ten years. In 1972, they decided they would like to become owners and in June of that year the Cardinale’s made the purchase. Their family business was born.
Sal and Angie worked hard (both of them working full-time) to make their new business a success. Under their guidance, the company grew. They started with 6 employees. Now, they have over 40 employees. It’s a three-generation family-owned business with three of their four children and one grandson now working for the company. Sal is the owner and CEO. His wife is the vice president. Their son, Vince, is president and in charge of the day-to-day operations. Their daughter, Roseann, is the Chief Financial Officer and their daughter, Sally, is in charge of Human Resources and new furniture receiving and distribution.
In addition to offering personal storage space, the company assists military personnel with moving and storing their belongings. People have used Cardniale’s moving services for typical items: sofas, bedroom sets, dining room tables. Once, Sal was hired to move a very unique item: a 2,000 pound cake for Monterey’s bicentennial celebration. Due to his moving expertise, the cake arrived in mint condition.
Cardinal Moving & Storage also won the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Award in 2011. The Pinnacle Award honors an outstanding business that is committed to ethical business practices and that portrays the moving and storage industry in a positive light within their community. The award is based on the highest level of management practices, great marketing and sales efforts, and outstanding customer and vendor relations.
Cardinale Moving & Storage also won the United-Mayflower Container Dealer of the Year Award in 2010, the California Moving and Storage Association Pinnacle Award in 2009, and the North Monterey County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year in2008. When a company wins awards like these, you know that it’s a company focused on providing great services and benefits to their customers.
