California-Based Self Storage Company Supports More Than Just It’s Community

Many facilities in the self storage industry make it a practice to get involved in their communities. Not only does it endear them to the community, but the resulting press coverage is great publicity. So than why would a company get involved in a community that is over a thousand miles away?

That is exactly what A-1 Self Storage has done.

The company is based out of San Diego and has more than 45 self storage facilities across the state. There are countless charities and worthwhile causes that they could get involved in and do. So than why get involved with something based out of Cleveland?

Recently A-1 Self Storage announced that it had once again made a donation to Saint Martin De Porres High School in Cleveland, Ohio. The school helps provide interested students with an education geared towards helping prepare them for college (and life in general).

“A-1 Self Storage is proud to be a national partner of Saint Martin De Porres High School.  We believe education breaks the cycle of poverty.  Saint Martin De Porres High School and the Cristo Rey Network provide students with a college prep education, as well as four years of corporate work experience.  That is priceless and a great investment in our communities,” said Brian Caster, President and CEO of A-1 Self Storage.

So why get involved in Ohio when the company is based out of San Diego? It could be because the people at A-1 Self Storage do not define their community by just their immediate surroundings or the boundaries of the state, but the world.

The company has a long history of giving to organizations within the state of California, but also nationwide charities (i.e. American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, National Alliance on Mental Illness, etc.) and in countries around the world (Doctors Without Borders, Helps International, World Vision, etc.).

With all the company does for national and international organizations it would be understandable if it drew the line there, but it is just as involved in local charities and causes. For example, in mid-July the company announced that it was donating to the All for God Youth Ministry. With their help local youth would be able to attend the young adult conference held at the University of San Diego over the last weekend of the month.

“We are excited to once again support All for God’s Steubenville San Diego event,” said Caster. “The conference offers a life changing experience that positively impacts teens for life. We are honored to be a part of the conference.”
