Awards are for More Than Trophy Cases in the Self Storage Industry

We all love to have a pat on the back for a job well done. We like to be recognized for doing an excellent job or being better than everyone else at a given task. It is in our nature to enjoy the recognition that comes with it. Simply put—it makes us feel good. However, on a business level—like in the self storage industry—it’s a little different.

Self storage facilities are entities so of course they can’t be made to ‘feel good.’ While the recognition can make employees feel good and encourage them to keep doing so there is an even bigger advantage that comes with awards in the self storage industry.

They are the best advertising a facility can possibly hope for.

For example, towards the end of May Granite Clover Self Storage in New Hampshire was awarded with the Business of the Year Award in the Business Services category. That alone is something that looks good to potential tenants (who doesn’t like to see a best of award at a business establishment you are going to do business with). When you look at what they did to earn it you want to give them your business even more.

Since 2006 the company has made it regular practice to get involved with the community raising over $400,000 for different charities. Through its charitable arm the company has supported several local charities including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Marguerite’s Place, and many more.

Now if you have two businesses to choose from—one with a ‘best of’ award and a long history of giving back and another with neither—which one are you going to want?

When it comes to the awards there is only one thing that can top the benefit of winning the first time around—doing it again. MyWay Mobile Self Storage was recently recognized for the second year in a row as the ‘Best Storage’ by the Capital Gazette’s Sixth Annual Reader’s Choice Awards.

“MyWay Mobile Storage is honored to once again be voted ‘Best Storage’, and special thanks goes to all those who participated in the voting,” says Steve Hudson, Operations Manager of MyWay Mobile Storage. “MyWay Mobile Storage has always strived to be recognized in the community not only for our portable storage service, but for our donations to various community organizations, events and charities.”

When tenants see that they get an image of a facility that has been highly regarded for some time.

Who do you want to rent from—a facility that has won multiple awards for excellence or one that has not been decorated at all?
