All Canadian Self Storage in Brandford, Ontario, To Host Fundraiser

On the TV show Storage Wars, professional buyers bid on the contents of storage units where the rent is long over due. The bidders hope to discover a treasure in the contents that they buy. Sometimes there is something of great value in what they get. Sometimes there isn’t.

All Canadian Self Storage will be hosting a ‘Storage Wars’ auction on June 22. Except it will be their personalized version of storage wars. There won’t be a TV crew. There won’t be any professional buyers. And, the facility won’t keep one single penny from the auction. That’s because the auction will benefit three local children’s charities.

This fundraising event will be held at the All Canadian Self Storage facility on Dalkeith Drive in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate items for the auction. The donated items will be put in ‘mystery’ storage units and will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The units are being called ‘mystery’ storage units because no one will be allowed to see what is in them. It will by a ‘mystery’ to the bidders. Contact Pamela deVries by e-mail at pldevries@rogers.com for more information about donating items to be auctioned.

Part of this personalized storage wars will include a community garage sale. Members of the community are encouraged to set up a table and participate in the sale.  Those interested in having a table can contact Dan McGuin by e-mail at dmcguin@canada-storage.com.

There will also be artisan booths, business vendors, food, music, and entertainment. Those looking to be a food or artisan vendor can contact Valerie Wilson by e-mail at vlwilson@rogers.com.

The money raised from this even will go to the Children’s Centre, Nova Vita Domestic Violence Prevention Services, and the Brantford Food Bank with the stipulation that the money is to be used to support the children who depend on these three organizations.
