The self storage industry is growing and expanding in South Africa. Several different self storage brands have built and developed facilities in the area: Johannesburg, Pretoria, Pinehurst, Centurion, Table View, Boksburg, Bloemfontein, and Cape Town. Recently, a new self storage facility opened its doors in the city of Durban.
With a population of almost 3.5 million people, Durban is the third largest city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Durban is the busiest port city in South Africa and is also one of the major centers for tourism.
In 1970, the city developed the Golden Mile, which is a popular stretch of beach. (Think The Magnificent Mile in Chicago that is in a subtropical area along a fantastic beach.) Golden sand glimmers in the sun and swimmers and sun-worshippers bask in the sub-tropical climate. The Golden Mile is a mecca for surfers. It also has a promenade, a casino complex, restaurants, shops, and entertainment facilities.
Late in 2009, the Golden Mile was redeveloped for the 2010 FIFA world cup (the International Federation of Association Football which is known as soccer in the United States). The city also has one of the world’s largest aquariums, a cricket venue, a golf course, and is the gateway to national parks and historic sites of Zululand.
With all of this growth that is going on in Durban, businesses are reaching a critical time in their life cycle. Many require temporary storage. Xtraspace SelfStorage’s multi-level facility in Durban fills this storage need.
Xtraspace provides storage when businesses need a place to temporarily store things when they remodel their office. They also provide businesses with a place to store extra stock.
They also have all of the amenities that a businessperson needs to run a business yet doesn’t have office space. There is a business center with meeting rooms, free Internet access, scanning, printing, and faxing. Branch Manager Jostine Visser commented that companies who are transitioning their business to a new level could benefit from the flexible storage at his facility and the convenient business solutions.
The Xtraspace facility has an eye-catching orange accent color on its brown building. The building occupies an entire block and is located in a prominent place between the Khuzimphi Shezi road and the Sydney road. It is conveniently located near the busy suburbs of Berea, Glenwood, Umbilo, Musgrave, and Warwick.
