3 Men Movers Add a “Move Concierge” Position to Their Company

Many of the four- and five-star hotels have a concierge. A concierge is a person who is in charge of special services for the hotel guests. Need tickets to the theater?  Ask the concierge. Need to know about a tour to a local tourist attraction? The concierge will know.

3 Men Movers has incorporated the concept of a concierge into their business model and have created a new position – the ‘Move Concierge.” The person in this position will make sure that all moves go smoothly and that the customer has the best experience that the company has to offer. Quality with an extra touch is their goal.

To make things interesting (and economical), the Move Concierge will drive an all-electric car. 3 Men Movers wanted an environmentally friendly vehicle for this new customer service position so they purchased an all-electric Mitsubishi i-Miev. This car can go 62 miles on one charge of the battery and was voted the “Greenest Vehicle of 2012″ by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy.

“As a company, we try to stay on the forefront of technology and of the industry. We have found a way to do this in a manner that doesn’t pollute the city and gives back to the community at the same time,” says Jacky Noons, CEO and President of 3 Men Movers. Noons is the first person to purchase this car in Houston.

There are several advantages of using an electric car. One of the main ones is that since it runs on an electric motor and not a gas-powered one is that it is emission-free. It will not pollute the air whatsoever. It is three times as efficient as a gas engine. It gets better gas mileage and is quieter to drive. And, with much of the petroleum reserves located in politically unstable countries, being independent from that source would be advantageous.

“The goal of this position is to make sure there is a smile on the face of every customer. Just looking at the car makes you want to smile,” says Noons.

Twenty-six years ago, John Fischer founded 3 Men Movers. The current owner, Jacky Noons, is his daughter. The company offers residential and commercial moving in the Houston, San Antonio, and Austin areas. They also offer both the traditional self storage option (a building with rental units which is in Houston) and the Movits mobile storage units.
