DIY Jewelry Organizer: Video and Instructions

Keeping your necklaces organized and untangled can be a tedious task. Especially when you’re in a hurry. Try this simple DIY jewelry organizer to avoid frustration and keep track of your jewelry. It also doubles as some added décor for your bedroom wall. A list of needed materials and step-by-step instructions are below!

  • 2 wooden planks (about 1 ft. in length)
  • 10 crystals
  • Super glue
  • White acrylic paint
  • Gold acrylic paint
  • Paint brush(es)
  • 2 pkg. Command strips

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Paint wood and let dry

Before you begin, cover the table’s surface with some old newspaper, cardboard or a table cloth. Start with a thinner brush and paint gold on all four skinny sides of each plank. Then follow with the white paint on the front side of each board. Be sure to add a healthy amount of paint with long, smooth stokes. Once completed, let dry for an hour or two before proceeding to the next step.

  1. Superglue crystals to wood

When the paint is totally dry, begin supergluing the crystals to the each of the planks (5 crystals per wooden plank). Feel free to get creative with the type of crystals used and their placement on the boards. Again, give it time to dry before moving on to the next step.

  1. Attach Command strips to back

Flip each plank over to reveal the back, or unpainted, side. This is where the Command strips will be placed. Attach two strips for each of the planks (4 total) and you’re ready to go!

  1. Hang on wall

Now all that’s left to do is hang it on your wall and start enjoying your beautifully organized necklace collection!
